9th Ranger Battalion - Birth

The 9th Ranger Battalion was formed on February 8, 2009 to replace the 71st ID after they disbanded.

The unit started off with the good members of the 71st ID under a new name. The name, the 9th Ranger Battalion, was chosen because we wanted to have an original name and build our own legacy; it did sound pretty cool, too. Mann, Minossyan, Calen, and Yeneralo were the founders of the unit and the people who got this unit on its feet.

The unit started off with fifteen members and grew rapidly. After the first day, the unit already had a server, forums, and five new recruits and continued to grow each day after that. On March 7, 2009, one month after the unit had been started, the 2nd Royal Canadian Regiment proposed a merge with the 9th RB. Feeling it was a good idea, the merge was accepted and the 2nd RCR brought over ten good members that were gladly accepted into the family. After the merge, the unit had about fifty members and were one of the biggest and strongest units in the Day of Defeat realism community.

Since then, the unit has grown to over sixty-five members, has developed a full website, a Ventrilo server, and continues to grow each and every day.

9th RB - Permission to Use System

You are only required to PTU on realism maps. Any other map, you can use whatever gun you want without asking.

To request to use a weapon on a realism map, all you have to type is say, "PTU Weapon." 95% of the time, it will be approved.

        -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Times you are not required to use PTU:

1. If 8 or less people are in the server.

2. If it is after 11:00 PM EST.

3. If you are specialized in a weapon, you do not have to PTU to use that specific weapon.

Rules - Pubbing

1. *Salute* everyone in the 9th RB.

2. If you are a lower rank than the one you are saluting to, then *Salute* first. This is a sign of respect.

3. Be respectful to anyone and everyone. For if you are disrespectful, it not only labels you as disrespectful, but your unit as well. That would be a bad thing.

4. Don't accuse others of hacking. Instead, grab their Steam ID and post it on the forums explaining what happened. If possible, please record a demo ("record DEMONAME" in console and "stop" to stop recording).

5. You must PTU on all maps unless it is a colored (orange, purple) map or a non-realism map.

6. If an admin is abusing power, post it on the forums. We want to know about this.

7. While on our server, wear your unit name/tag no matter the reason.

8. While on other servers, unless scrimming, you may wear your pub name.

9. If you're going to be an ass on another server, at least change your name first so it doesn't make the unit look dishonorable.

10. In fact, try not to be an ass in the first place.

11. NO HACKING! IF YOU ARE CAUGHT WITH THEM, YOU WILL BE PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM OUR SERVER(S) AND OUR UNIT! I WILL COOPERATE WITH OTHER SERVERS TO SEE THAT YOU ARE BANNED FROM THERE AS WELL!
